College Chaplain

Scots College is seeking to appoint a new College Chaplain.  The College has a preference for an ordained minister, and would ideally like to appoint someone with the ability to teach Religious Education.

Scots College is an independent, Presbyterian school for boys located in Strathmore, Wellington. It is well known for its holistic approach to education. Although academic expectations are high, students are encouraged to become great “all-rounders” with the sporting, spiritual and cultural and community involvement dimensions of life also being given the right amount of emphasis so that they continue “Learning for Life”. The College prides itself on sending each young man off into the world, well prepared for the challenges ahead.

In addition to the above-stated preferences, applicants must have:

  • A strong commitment to our special character and co-curricular programmes
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, especially with the College community
  • The ability to gain the respect of teenagers, staff and parents
  • Proven experience in counseling both students and adult staff
  • Strong empathy with families and family issues
  • A passion for boys education
  • The ability to manage and motivate young men

It is expected that the successful applicant would be highly visible in the wider school community, exhibiting positive behaviour which is supportive of the College and its values.
