James McNutt House is the original homestead and is a gracious home in a quiet rural landscape surrounded by gardens. It is completely self-contained, comfortably furnished and equipped with fridge-freezer, microwave, automatic washing machine, Freeview TV, VCR/DVD player, WiFi and barbeque. The home has a modern kitchen, separate dining area and large lounge with a piano and a selection of books. A wood-burner and panel heaters provide cosy heating when required. There is one bathroom with shower, bath and toilet and a separate toilet in the adjacent games room. There are three large bedrooms with five single beds and one queen size bed, plus two folding beds. All beds have electric blankets and a cot and high chair are available.
The maximum that can be accommodated is nine adults and one baby. A sunny terrace with outdoor furniture is situated on the north side of the house.
There is ample outdoor parking for cars.
The games rooms are adjacent to the house and are shared with guests of Maud Hooper House. Table tennis, carpet bowls, a pool table and a dartboard are available for guests' use. The tennis court and swimming pool are a short distance down the driveway.
