(A) Orders

The Service for the Lord's Day Supplemental Liturgical Resource 1, Complete Text Edition, Westminster Press, 1984-Prepared for the Presbyterian Church (USA). As well as worship resources, there is a good introduction and commentary on Presbyterian worship and communion services.

The Book of Common Worship, PCUSA - Westminster/John Knox Press, 1993.

The Eucharistic Prayer Pack produced by the Church Worship Committee and available from the Presbyterian Resource Centre (P.O. Box 9049, Wellington) includes contemporary communion prayers, and some for home communions and all age services.

Uniting in Worship-Leaders Book. Uniting Church in Australia. 1988. Available Epworth Bookshop. Useful orders of communion, and includes a brief commentary on the Lord's Day Service. This service book is popular with many PCANZ ministers.

New Zealand Prayer Book-He Karakia Mihinare o Aotearoa. Collins, 1989. Prepared for the Anglican Church in New Zealand. Some interesting resources, but would need to be adapted for Presbyterian use. Includes Maori-language material and extra Eucharistic prayers.

The Book of Common Order (1979) of the Church of Scotland . Saint Andrew Press, 1979. This includes several orders for communion, with language corresponding to the AV, RSV, and NEB, and also a shorter order. This service book replaces the well-known 1940 book, but retains much of its general atmosphere and format. Its language is not inclusive.

A serviced called "Communion beyond the Gathered Congregation" written by the Methodist Church of New Zealand's Faith and Order Committee, 1998, available from the Methodist Office, PO Box 931, Christchurch.

Helping Children Participate in Holy Communion, by Leigh Pope. Joint Board of Christian Education. Good ideas for helping families and children participate in communion.

Out of the Darkness-Paths to Inclusive Worship. Language and Liturgy Task Group, Commission on the Status of Women, Australian Council of Churches, 1986. Contains an inclusive language Eucharist.

Inclusive Language in the Church by Nancy Hardesty, John Knox Press, 1987.

Various prayer resources including Flames of the Spirit, Ruth Duck; Gathering (3 x p.a.); Alive Now (6 x p.a.); Aotearoa Psalms, Joy Cowley; Guerillas of Grace, Ted Loder; Through Desert Places, Jim Cotter.
