In March, April and May, Otago University’s Department of Theology and Religion is hosting a series of public lectures and seminars to mark the 500th anniversary of the Reformation: Luther After 500 Years – The “tragic necessity” of the Reformation.
Among the lecturers are Professor Amy Burnett, who will speak on “The Reformation and women’s place in the sixteenth century”; Professor Wolfgang Huber, former bishop of the Evangelical Church in Germany, speaking on “The spirit of Reformation and future of the market economy”, and Associate Professor John Stenhouse from Otago University whose lecture is titled: “Luther, the Bible and Science”.
Otago University acknowledges the support of the Synod of Otago and Southland for their support of the programme.
