Press Go was established with the vision that every church or presbytery committed to a growth project would receive the resources it needs. Since 2008 we have funded 14 projects and invested a total of $1.6m. Our role has been a facilitative one providing funding to initiatives which meet criteria around mission and growth, are well thought out, have sound governance and oversight, have a high level of ownership and are ultimately sustainable. In doing so Press Go has entered into a range of relationships with partner congregations, including various financial relationships (grants, loans, fundraising assistance, facilitating other partnerships etc).
In its first five years of operations, Press Go identified a major lack of skills in areas that were directly relevant to planning and undertaking successful projects. These included strategic mission development, financial management, project management, governance, fundraising, and resource management processes. As a result Press Go changed its focus from simply providing grants to a broader vision of resourcing and equipping mission.
Press Go is about the church together sharing in God's mission, impacting the nation with the Good News. The Press Go Catalyst and Press Go Board members help by providing professional leadership to help build capacity and skills within a congregation so that they can both deal with their property challenges and pursue missional growth.
