Knox Church, Christchurch, dedication service

Sunday 1 Feb 2015 Knox Church, Christchurch, celebrated its official re-opening. Moderator the Right Rev Andrew Norton dedicated the church and shares this message:

“This morning I took part in the dedication service for the rebuilt Knox Church, Christchurch. It was an amazing experience. People were so moved and bursting with joy and tears as the service came to an end. Apart from the desire to have a coffee, this was a service that people did not want to end. The music and the prayers captured a congregation’s faith, pride and vision for the city’s recovery from the devastation of the Canterbury earthquakes. What a sign of great hope!

“What can we learn from Knox? Transparency, trust and unity.

“Congratulations to Knox Church for your vision, mission, courage, perseverance and hard work!

“Thank you to Geoff King for your leadership post-earthquake.

“Thank you Matthew Jack for the dignity, care and vision for this community into the future.

“May God’s blessing be on your new adventure of faith.”

- Andrew
