Mr John W Mansfield joined the New Hebrides Mission in 1892 as a lay assistant to Dr Lamb at Dip Point on Ambrim, serving until c. 1899. In 1921 he returned to the New Hebrides, serving at Paama under the John G. Paton Fund of Victoria Australia. In 1924, he acted as a lay missionary for the New Zealand Presbyterian Misison on North Ambrim, serving until 1929. He returned to NZ and died at Akaroa in 1930.
