Item Description : This file contains details of a compensation claim for war damage and loss during World War Two to mission buildings and property in South China under the "Enemy Property Emergency Regulations, 1939". A claim was also lodged with the Hong Kong Government for War Losses in that colony.
The correspondence includes: an
itemised list and value of losses to mission buildings and property; correspondence
with the public trustee (as custodian of enemy property); correspondence
with the Colonial Secretariat, Hong Kong, including a declaration by the
Hong Kong Government that no compensation claims will be paid from public
monies.
