Missionary Settlement for University Women (1900)
The association was formed in June 1891 to support Missionaries and
the Mission cause in the New Hebrides.
It amalgamated with the Auckland Branch of the Presbyterian Women's
Missionary Union in September 1902.

This Association (also known as "The Dunedin Ladies' Association for Assisting Zenana Missions in India"), which was open to all denominations, was formed in Dunedin in May 1892 to support Missionaries working in India in conjunction with the Church of Scotland Zenana Mission in India. It merged with "The Women's Missionary Society of New Zealand" in 1893 (but remained as a Branch within the Society).
Published Material Includes : Formation of the Association (1892); visit of Mrs Longhurst of the Scottish Zenana Mission, Madras (1892); appointment of Miss Helen MacGregor to Madras under the Church of Scotland Mission (1892).
The Society was formed in Dunedin on the 25th August 1892 to support
Protestant Missionaries working in foreign lands. From 1893, the Society
became known as "The Women's Missionary Association of New Zealand". Branch
associations were apparently active along with subscribers. Support appears
to have been mainly directed to the Church of Scotland Madras Mission in
India.
The Association joined with "The Ladies Mission Aid Association" in
1897 to form the Otago/Southland Branch of "The Presbyterian Women's Missionary
Union" (PWMU) in 1897.

The Zenana Mission Committee (originally formed as "The Ladies' Zenana
Mission Association") was re-formed in 1893 as a branch of "The Women's
Missionary Society of New Zealand". It existed primarily to support women
Missionaries working in India, specifically among the "Zenana" domestic
apartments of Indian Women.
The committee was amalgamated into the Otago/Southland Branch of "The
Presbyterian Women's Missionary Union" (PWMU) in 1897.

The Otago/Southland Branch of "The Presbyterian Women's Missionary Union"
(PWMU) was formed from the amalgamation of "The Women's Missionary Society
of New Zealand" and "The Ladies' Missions Aid Association" in 1897.
The aims of the Union were to promote and support Mission work, particularly
among women and children, and to promote the Mission schemes of the Church.

The Association was formed in Dunedin on the 18th November 1891 to assist
the New Hebrides Missionaries in maintaining and educating their children
in New Zealand.
It was amalgamated into the Otago/Southland branch of "The Presbyterian
Women's Missionary Union" (PWMU) in 1897.

This "Settlement" was oroginally founded in Bombay India in 1895 to encourage Missionary interest amongst women students in Universities and Colleges. The New ZEaland "Settlement" was formed in January 1900 to financially and prayerfully support existing "Settlements" in India .
