Christian World Service receiving donations for the victims of Cyclone Katrina

Hurricane Katrina has caused unprecedented damage leading to the largest clean-up operation in USA history.

In response to the emergency Christian World Service is receiving donations for relief and restoration work.

The money will be sent to Church World Service, the USA equivalent of Christian World Service, which is also a member of Action by Churches Together the international ecumenical emergency relief network.

Church World Service has already rushed aid to the devastated area. “We are particularly concerned about the plight of poor people, the elderly, and other vulnerable populations,” said the Rev. John L. McCullough, Church World Service Director.

Donations can be sent to CWS at Box 22-652, Christchurch, or by credit card on 0800 747 372 or through www.cws.org.nz
