Maud Hooper House was the original gardener's house now fully refurbished and surrounded by gardens in a quiet, rural landscape.
From 2024 Maud Hooper House is also available for use by Local Ordained Ministers, Amorangi, and Local Shared Ministry team members at a cost of $200 per week (plus a refundable $100 bond).
Facilities and amenities
The house is completely self-contained, comfortably furnished and well equipped with fridge-freezer, microwave, dishwasher, automatic washing machine, Freeview TV, VCR/DVD player, WiFi and barbeque. The home has a modern, open-plan kitchen, dining area and lounge with a selection of books. A wood-burner and panel heaters provide cosy heating when needed. There is one bathroom with shower and bath, and a separate toilet.
Sleeping capacity
The maximum that can be accommodated is seven adults and one baby. There are four bedrooms – a double room with queen sized bed, a single room, a twin room and a room with a set of bunks. All beds have electric blankets and a cot and highchair are available.
Outdoor facilities available
A sunny, sheltered north facing terrace with outdoor furniture adjoins the lounge. The communal games rooms are just down the path and are shared with guests of James McNutt House. Table tennis, carpet bowls, a pool table and dartboard are available for guests' use. The tennis court and swimming pool are a short distance down the driveway. There is ample outdoor parking for cars.
The Maud Hooper House telephone number is (06) 855-4886. There is no cell phone coverage at Glen Innis, so we would recommend making calls via WiFi. Glen Innis is a working farm. If you would like to see around the farm, ask James who will be happy to provide guests with a guided tour in the utility vehicle, as farm work and weather permit.
