In addition to church-related funding sources, there are also a variety of external sources of funds available.
International partners
The Presbyterian Church is a member of various ecumencial organisations (Council for World Mission, for example). From time-to-time training opportunities or funding may be available from these partners for initiatives that meet relevant criteria. More information can be obtained from the Assembly Executive Secretary, Rev Wayne Matheson, or in the case of training opportunities, contact the Church's Global Mission Director, Rev Phil King. Contact details here.
Other external funding sources
- Local councils often have funds available for community projects. Check with your local council to see what is available in your area.
- Community Organisation Grants Scheme (COGS) and others administered by the Department of Internal Affairs. More information about what types of initiatives they support and how to apply can be found at https://www.communitymatters.govt.nz/crown-funds/ under the For Organisations Tab.
Special rules apply for Presbyterian congregations seeking to apply for grants from organisations that derive their revenue from gambling like Lotteries grants. Please check these rules before making an application to such organisations. Learn more about applying for a Lottery grant
