White Ribbon table a GA23 at Saint Kentigern

At GA23, our PCANZ White Ribbon Ambassador Rev Hana Popea will have a table with White Ribbon resources for parishes and presbyteries - look out for the PCANZ White Ribbon banner flag.

Hana will be present in the Saint Kentigern common room during meal breaks to talk about how she can work with our churches and presbyteries to help stop or prevent domestic and family violence towards women and children. She wants to hear your ideas and stories too.  "We have many people in our parishes working and volunteering with community organisations that seek to prevent violence towards women and children. Let's connect with each other, with other churches and cultures, with White Ribbon, so we can all access and share training and resources."

Hana will have ideas for how your church can participate in White Ribbon Day, 25 November 2023.

White Ribbon 2023 Resource for churches

“I commend to the churches the White Ribbon Day 2023, and the resources that have been prepared by the Rev Hana Popea, White Ribbon Ambassador for the PCANZ.

Recently I was listening to a podcast featuring Mike King and he talked about issues to do with mental health. He talked of ‘changing the narrative’ in how we speak to and treat our young people, and what a huge difference that can make.

That approach resonates with the theme ‘Change the Story for women and girls’. As Hana says, violence experienced by women and girls takes many forms. Let us be pro-active in being part of changing the story.”
