The 2008 General Assembly adopted a new system for parish reviews. This system replaces quinquinnial reviews or congregational visitations.
Parish reviews will continue to be facilitated by presbyteries on a five-yearly basis. This system uses the Parish Development Framework template which is based on the dimensions of Healthy Congregations.
At the end of each review a report will be presented back to the presbytery. This report will include goals agreed to by the congregation. During the five-yearly cycle, the congregation will report on its progress towards these goals, as part of its regular report to presbytery.
In addition to the five-yearly review cycle, parish reviews will also be conducted where a charge becomes vacant and the previous review is more than three years old.
There is no review fee for parish reviews. For more information on parish reviews please email Kate Wilson, kate@presbyterian.org.nz.
