Glen Innis Station, located south east of Waipukurau, Central Hawke’s Bay, was generously gifted to the Presbyterian Church under James McNutt's Will in 1959. It is a working sheep and beef farm that provides two comfortable holiday houses so that ministers (both active and retired) may enjoy a relaxing holiday. Glen Innis is managed by James and Stephanie Carter under the governance of the Church Property Trustees.
The Houses
Glen Innis has two substantial and well-maintained houses available as holiday accommodation for ministers of the Presbyterian Church of Aotearoa New Zealand.
- James McNutt House is the original homestead available to National Ordained ministers to enjoy a week's free holiday accommodation each year (in accordance with the Will).
- Maud Hooper House was the formers gardener’s house, now named after James’s wife. Maud Hooper house is also available to National Ordained Ministers at no cost. When it is not being used by Ordained Ministers, the house is available for Local Ordained Ministers, Amorangi, and Local Shared Ministry Team members at a small cost.
Both houses are comfortable homes with all modern conveniences, including dishwashers and Wi-Fi. They are set in park like grounds in a superb rural landscape. A swimming pool, tennis court and games rooms are available for guests' use.

Bookings
The maximum stay in either house is one week, which runs from 3pm Monday to 10.30am Sunday.
During the school holidays preference is given to National Ordained ministers with families. National Ordained Ministers travelling from the South Island by ferry are eligible for a subsidy on ferry fares every second year. The subsidy applies to the principal vehicle only and does not cover any towed trailers or caravans. Unfortunately, the subsidy is not available to Locally Ordained Ministers, Amorangi, or Shared Ministry Team Leaders.
Please see the Making a Booking page for how to book.
James and Stephanie work hard to ensure that both houses are clean and welcoming for each arrival of guests. The What to Bring section will let you know what is and isn’t provided.
