Presbyterian Women invites applications from those wishing to be a self-funded member of the 2018 Presbyterian Women of Aotearoa NZ Delegation to the United Nations.
Presbyterian Women has special consultative status with the United Nations body responsible for initiatives for the advancement of women. As a member of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW), Presbyterian Women has a responsibility to be represented to evaluate progress, set standards and formulate policies to promote gender equality and the advancement of women worldwide.
CSW62 (2018) the sixty second session of the Commission on the Status of Women will take place at the United Nations Headquarters in New York from 12 to 23 March 2018. Representatives of member states, UN entities, and ECOSOC-accredited non-governmental organisations (NGOs) from all regions of the world will attend the session.
• Priority theme: Challenges and opportunities in achieving gender equality and the empowerment of rural women and girls;
• Review theme: Participation in and access of women to the media, and information and communications technologies and their impact on and use as an instrument for the advancement and empowerment of women
